Applications are invited for a senior, experienced clinical research Operations Manager to join the UKCRC registered Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) based within the School of Public Health at Imperial College London. ICTU brings together scientific, clinical and trial management expertise across a range of therapeutic areas to deliver a portfolio of world class clinical trials across all phases and designs.
Duties and responsibilitiesThe Operations Manager will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of operational activities across the ICTU Cardiovascular trial portfolio as well as being pivotal to achieving the planned expansion and strategic direction of the wider trials unit. The postholder will undertake a wide range of activities from development of initial trial concept and submission of grant applications with accurate costs, through senior oversight of conduct of studies to successful delivery to time and within budget, as well as line managing members of allocated study teams.
Essential requirementsIn order to meet the essential requirements of this post, you are expected to have acquired professional knowledge of clinical research management through a degree or an equivalent qualification in a biomedical/scientific/statistical or allied field and supplemented by (a) specialist training to doctorate or equivalent level, or (b) management qualification, or (c) equivalent experience.
Specifically, you will have proven experience of the planning, conduct and successful delivery of clinical trials, ideally in the cardiovascular arena, and evidence of project management/conduct gained in a number of multi-centre, randomised, IMP trials would be advantageous. Evidence of strong leadership and motivational skills is also required.
