An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Programme Support Officer to join our expanding team working directly to the LBLC Programme Manager.
The vacancy is open as a fixed term or secondment opportunity for two years full time (35 hours per week).
The London Blue Light Collaboration Programme is exploring opportunities for the London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service to work closely together across the organisations in all areas of operation. This wide ranging and innovative programme is focused on developing and delivering effective and efficient solutions for London’s communities. How we answer calls from the public, how we respond, how we help Londoners to prevent crime, secure their homes and places of work – these are all within scope for closer collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a self starter who is able to provide a wide range of administrative skills and experience that will support the LBLC Programme Manager to drive and deliver a programme that’s important for Government, the Mayor and to each of our organisations.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in working in a Programme Support role, have an understanding of the wider political landscape and will be vital in the development of the Programme’s governance framework as well as assisting with the coordination and development of key Programme and project documentation across multi-agency teams. A background in the emergency services is not a requirement although the skills and experience to work across large organisations will be necessary.
This role will require strong organisational skills to assist in planning and coordinating delivery of the programme as well as this the postholder will need strong administrative skills as they will be responsible for providing administrative support to the various governance boards.
The post will require the successful candidate to be based at London Fire Brigade Headquarters in Southwark, regularly travelling between London Ambulance Service headquarters in Waterloo and Metropolitan Police Service headquarters in Westminster. The funding for the post is being jointly provided by the three services.
In line with the Basic Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) employment checks will be completed for the successful candidate, which will include a basic criminal records check. The successful person will be required to declare any convictions for offences which are not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a Disclosure Scotland Basic Disclosure will be undertaken before an appointment is confirmed.
