Street Trading Markets Operations Officer Jobs Vacancy at Tower Hamlets London Jobs Details:
Tower Hamlets is responsible for 10 dedicated street markets. You will manage, control and monitor all street trading and market related activities and ensure the enforcement of the Council's regulations, applicable legislation in respect of trading in the Council's street trading and Markets. The role includes the management and enforcement of public footway licenses.
Key Responsibilities Under the management of the Markets Operations Supervisor/Deputy Supervisor you will be assisting with regulating street markets, inlcuding allocation of pitches, management of traders, carrying out inspections, maintaining accurate and consistent records of attendance data, enforcement of market pitches including verbal warnings, fixed penalty notices/prosecutions.
Requirements Have proven experience of an enforcement role, be familiar with street trading legislation. You will be working as part of a team but should be able to work unsupervised and use your own initiative, setting work to deadlines. Good communication and written skills. Experience of using IT to record data, write reports/witness statements, attendance at Thames Magistrates/Crown Court when required. Experience of combating illegal street tading and other enforcement matters in relation to the operation of the service. Have the ability to defuse confrontational situations.
Additional Information The role is weekend working, you may be asked to work weekdays if the service has reduced resources.
