A vacancy has arisen to join a new and dynamic treatment team, looking after males of working age experiencing an acute episode of mental ill health. Newbridges is located in the east side of Kingston upon Hull. The city has excellent links to transport networks and is a gateway to Europe.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic, autonomous Registered Nurse to join and contribute to the clinical multi-disciplinary team, to support in the delivery of safe and effective care within a treatment and assessment unit.

The role will involve the provision of safe and effective evidence based care in collaboration with service users, their relatives and carers. Deliver clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff with regard to quality service provision, development of their knowledge and skills in support of 1st class care delivery.

You will be expected to take care coordinator responsibility for complex and challenging patients ensuring that the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients is in accordance with current NICE guidance, liaison between agencies to provide a seamless service to our service users. The post holder should be adept at risk management, and be an effective communicator, hold a full current driving licence. You will be expected to undertake specific roles to support the continued improvement of quality care, and risk mitigation.

In return you will be provided regular professional supervision and we offer a strong commitment to learning and practice development. Newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply and will be provided with a an exciting and supportive preceptorship and development practice to ensure that you are prepared for the road ahead with skills in assessment of mental health, duel diagnosis, and physical health.

We will also provide you with a varied and grounded experience of other disciplines who contribute to care of those service users admitted to the unit, their role, resources within the clinical team, local authority and third sector.

Newbridges is a fast paced inpatient unit that aims to provide safe and effective care and assessment for the acutely ill patient, utilising evidence based approaches to support recovery. The Unit works short shifts and as such the successful candidate will be expected to a 24hr shift system to ensure clinical leadership is provided across the 24hr period.

The team are committed to working with carers and relatives to provide carer support and education to further support the service user with their recovery. The service is currently reviewing pathways to ensure that they meet the current Nice Quality standards.
