As a Project Worker, you will join The Mill supported living service that supports 6 young people (Aged 16-21) and adults (Aged 18- 21) who are threatened with homelessness/young people at risk.
As a Project Worker you will have knowledge and experience of working with young people with complex needs and you will be able to recognise indicators of deteriorating mental health and help to implement agreed interventions. Promoting independence, wellbeing and healthy life choices as well as supporting service user to maximise their involvement in local training, education, and employment opportunities.
We're ideally looking for a Project Worker with an NVQ/experience in Youth work, as well as solid understanding of homelessness and the impact this has on personal wellbeing. You will also have experience of re-engaging and motivating young people to participate in services such as employment and work programmes, specialist services, after care services, education, training, volunteering and skill building opportunities. As a Project worker the hours of work are flexible to service need, so may include some evening and weekend working, and the role also involves covering local manager on-call Rota. You must be capable of prioritizing your own case load and using you initiative to plan and implement agreed action to meet set deadlines.
A great team player with lots of energy, you'll need strong communication skills, a flexible approach and positive attitude to achieve targets in a challenging environment which requires empathy, understanding and patience.
