A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer for the Educational sector who lives near Harrow to work in the halls of residence, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users.
Position: Security Officer
Pay Rate: £10.20 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Shifts: Mon to Fri 1900-0000 & Sat 2000-0800
SIA Licence essential
Security Experience is essential - Education Sector experience desirable
Customer service & concierge experience is required
You will have previous experience of working in a busy front line customer service role
Good communication both written & verbal
Good level of customer service at all times
To have a smart appearance befitting the company
Reliable, honest and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
Able to be assertive without being aggressive.
IT skills – word, excel, office
Able to conduct internal and external patrols
Ideally living in the Harrow area
Looking for an approachable and customer focussed person to assist in the day to day running of a residential site.
You will be the first point of contact for students, University visitors and contractors, both face to face and through use of telephone and email.
Able to deal with a wide range of people. You will also have excellent communication skills and be committed to providing an excellent level of customer service and care.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team or on your own initiative.
Security staff required to provide a flexible service
Provide outstanding proactive customer care at all times, ensuring a courteous and helpful service to residents, all site visitors and University staff.
Ensure that the reception area is clean and tidy at all times and presented to a high standard.
Deal with requests for information and keys, fault reports and complaints, referring more difficult issues to the Residence Manager.
When mail and parcels are delivered to the site office, ensure that they are sorted and appropriately dispensed to residents or retained for their collection in a secure manner.
Ensure that all keys are securely stored and issued in accordance with Residential Services procedures and that appropriate records are accurately completed and maintained.
Record maintenance tasks and repairs, and issue these tasks to the appropriate member of the Residences team, Estate Services team or log them onto the electronic reporting system.
Undertake general administrative tasks i.e. filing, inputting/maintaining information on databases and electronic management systems.
Ensure, as far as is reasonably practical, the security of persons and property in the site residence, maintaining an incident logbook as required.
Health & Safety Checks to be carried out.
Responding to emergencies and alarm activations.
While on duty, to support the welfare and well-being of residents by ensuring an appropriate level of discipline and safety.
