Clinical Nurse Practitioner, 3 posts Band 7
37.5 Hours Full Time Permanent
Due to Service redesign an exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for band 7 Pre-operative Nurse Practitioners. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring immediate care to the relevant patient group and will work within the pre-operative assessment and admission service. We are a busy department assessing all patients undergoing surgery, many with multiple co-morbidities. You will work closely with a wide MDT, including other hospital and GP services to ensure a smooth, safe and positive journey for all our patients. We also support weekly Anaesthetic clinics, for complex patient assessment and planning.
You will be able to provide direct patient care and have clinical knowledge of the specialist area. You will be expected to manage your own caseload of patients ensuring they are fully optimised and fit for surgery, whilst high standards of quality of care are delivered and maintained. You will work autonomously and be a team player who works flexibly in order to deliver the highest quality care to our patients. You will be enthusiastic, innovative with excellent communications skills along with a willingness to contribute to the improvement and development of services within pre op.

The Trust has a combined bed capacity of approximately 875 beds at Whiston and St Helens hospitals and provides a full range of acute in-patient, out-patient, day case and emergency services to the local communities of St Helens, Knowsley, Halton and Liverpool, extending to Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and the Isle of Man with the Regional Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit.
