Based predominantly from our client’s UK headquarters in Staffordshire but involving frequent travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas, the successful candidate will report to the Technical Services Manager and assume responsibility for:
Providing first class engineering support and applications advice to the sales team and to customers directly
Carrying out condition monitoring, equipment trials and lubrication surveys
Recommending the appropriate lubricants, metal working fluids, corrosion preventives, industrial cleaners, oils and greases to best suit the application
Providing all necessary customer support and product training
Liaising closely with – and feeding back to – marketing, product management and R&D teams
Applicants selected for interview will be expected to demonstrate:
A minimum bachelor’s degree or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related
A thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices in manufacturing industries (ideally including steel processing, treatment, fabrication and/or machining)
A minimum of three years’ experience in a field based or ‘customer facing’ role with a level of commercial responsibility (typical roles might include industrial chemist, applications engineer or reliability engineer)
An understanding of condition monitoring and lubrication for the maintenance of manufacturing plant/equipment
Patience, attention to detail and good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers at all levels, from factory floor to board room
A logical and systematic approach to diagnostic problem solving and above-average computer literacy
