Virtual MGA is in the business of providing a cloud-based transaction platform for facilitating the insurance placement process (rating, underwriting, proposal generation, and policy production) between different insurance professionals. Our clients are Managing General Agents (MGA’s) located all across the US, Canada as well as Underwriting Syndicates in London. Our business model is delivered as software as a service.
Virtual MGA is looking for an individual to be part of our client implementation team as a Underwriting Configuration Analyst. The primary responsibility of this position is to review the business requirements captured by the requirements analyst and create/build the desired product on the transaction platform using our propriety software framework. The candidate must be able to work in a rapid environment and work on multiple client implementations simultaneously. Candidates must be competent in MS Excel and demonstrate they can understand and deconstruct an Excel rating matrix for purposes of building the same product onto the platform.
The Underwriting Configuration Analyst is an active participant in all phases of the client implementation process and must work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders (requirements analyst, account manager, Q/A, and project manager, as well as the client). Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, critical reasoning and excellent communication skills.
Strong candidates will have a foundation of insurance knowledge and are familiar with binding authority agreements, underwriting guidelines and rating methodologies. Candidate will be expected to quickly learn new types of insurance products and effectively implement these products in a timely manner.
- 2 years plus of documenting or working with detailed business process flows, technical manuals, web flows
- 2 years plus of requirements analysis experience
- 2 years plus of financial analysis can also be substituted for some of the above qualifications
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Experience in property & casualty underwriting in the Lloyd's market
- Experience in product implementation or utilizing a cloud-based tool set
- Experience working in a client interaction rule
