Overview of the role of Service Manager
The purpose of the role is to effectively manage and coordinate all aspects of the day to day transport operation within one site. To ensure the operations are conducted in a safe and legally compliant manner, to maximise productivity and deliver first class customer service.
Job Description for the Service Manager
The main areas of responsibility for the position of Service Manager include
To ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environment remains the priority within the transport operation, providing a safe workplace for employees.
To assist the Business Manager to achieve the depot runs effectively and efficiently through the following:
? transport operational cost and resource management;
? ensure a high standard of health and safety is adhered to;
? monitoring and maximising productivity and efficiency.
? Profitability of the depot
? supporting the depot operations through:
? delivery of service
? recovery and communication of non-service/missed lifts within company parameters.
? routing efficiencies and capacity identification
? effective container stock level control and management
? effective customer communication
? Continual improvement in recycling and addressing contaminated containers in conjunction with the sales team.
Ensure all regulatory obligations and fleet compliance are adhered to, in line with operator licence requirements.
Ensuring all operational key performance indicators are met and improvement plans are implemented where appropriate, specifically relating to:
? Customer Service KPI's
? WIMS Utilisation KPI's
The Successful Service Manager
The successful candidate must have the following: -
? Experience of operations within a transport industry
? Experience of a high level of maintaining and improving efficiencies
? Excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction
? Knowledge of routing
? Accustomed to monitoring and improving KPIs
? Managing drivers
To hold IOSH would be a considerable advantage.
Benefits Package for the role of Service Manager
Salary up to £33,000 per annum.
