We are currently looking to recruit two Duty Workers to join the teams based at two of our Projects, in West London. Hope Gardens is 27 bed supported accommodation Project for people that are homeless with medium to high needs specialising in substance misuse. The Project at Wood Lane provides 24 hour supported abstinence based accommodation for men and women newly abstinent from drugs and alcohol.
We know that all sorts of people, from all backgrounds, have the skills and competencies to support, challenge and inspire people rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness. That is why we have designed our Duty Worker roles for people new to the homelessness sector. Whatever your background and experience, whether changing careers, building on your volunteering experience or just starting out, this role will provide a great first step to becoming a Project Worker.
As a Duty Worker, you will work as part of team to manage the safe day to day running of the Project and provide basic support and advice to clients. You will also be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and will be responsible for coordinating the daily Health and Safety, office administration and housekeeping tasks.
To succeed, you will be someone who has strong customer/client service skills. You will also have the ability to communicate and engage sensitively and creatively with people with alcohol, drug, mental health and physical health support needs.
