We currently have opportunities for motivated, personable and enthusiastic people to work within our portering service at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust based in Reading.
We have a variety of shift patterns available, including, Monday to Friday, weekends, and night shifts based within different areas of the hospital.
You would be joining our existing patient focused and talented team, who deliver outstanding customer service to our patients, their relatives and colleagues within the Trust
The role has a high level of customer contact and is extremely varied. Duties include transferring patients throughout the hospital, delivering stock and equipment around the hospital and control and removal of clinical waste
Our ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and be capable of a very high standard of customer service. It is essential to be committed, hard-working and willing to go the extra mile for our patients.
Applicants must be flexible, reliable and able to work under pressure and be well organized and able to listen to instructions.
The team is a large one and so it is important that if you were to apply for the post you could be a team player and have a âcan doâ attitude, being friendly and having an out-going manner.
Previous experience in a porterâs role is not necessary, as full training will be provided.
This vacancy is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 which means that all convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings on your criminal record need to be disclosed. An enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be applied for in the event of a successful application.
PLEASE NOTE: Shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an assessment day at the Royal Berkshire Hospital starting at 9:00 am on Wednesday 13th June 2018.
Candidates who successfully pass the assessment day will then need to be available for interview on either Monday 18th June 2018 or Wednesday 20th June 2018 (to be held in Room 2, Level 2, Princes House, London Road).
