Part-time Digital Learning Project Officer (maternity cover)

Are you passionate about technology and learning and interested in working on the development of innovative online courses? We seek an intellectually curious and well-organised Digital Learning Project Officer to join our Technology-Assisted Lifelong Learning (TALL) unit.
The role of the Digital Learning Project Officer is to support the design and production of new courses and the maintenance of the Department’s existing portfolio of over 100 online courses. You will manage allocated projects including: being the first point of contact for commissioned authors; participating in design workshops; preparing specifications, budgets and schedules; reviewing and providing learning technology/instructional design feedback on draft author content; commissioning the production of original media such as videos and interactives; and ensuring all aspects of the course meet required quality standards. You will also contribute to the on-going enhancement of systems and processes to support the team’s course design, production and project management work.
We require an individual who is able to manage a busy and varied workload to deliver high quality digital learning projects on time. An understanding of web-based technologies and their application to online learning, good written communication skills, an eye for detail and editorial experience are essential, and experience of commissioning the production of media resources and interactives would be desirable. The successful candidate must also enjoy working collaboratively as part of team and be customer-focused and professional in their outlook
This part-time (18 hours a week) maternity cover position is available as soon as possible and is fixed-term until 30 June 2019. The role includes 38 days’ leave (pro rata), inclusive of Bank Holidays and Departmental closure days, pension and excellent benefits.
