The Reward Manager will work with the Reward, Retention and Engagement Manager, as part of a small EMEAR reward centre of expertise to support the strategy and execution of compensation and to ensure the most effective compensation practices Leading on the effective review, design and delivery of Compensation programmes that recognise and reward critical skills, capabilities, and performance and ensure that reward programmes are in line with market practice and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities: •Lead compensation activities for the EMEAR region. Understand local markets and practices. Interface with executives, management and HR Business Partners to accomplish objectives
•Project manage and lead the annual salary review process including modelling the impact of annual performance outcomes to determine the high level budget provision, analysis of external factors (unemployment, salary movement, inflation), production of data sheets to collect individual salary review recommendations from stakeholders, updating of stakeholder toolkits, stakeholder management of the HRBP team, cost modelling during the annual process, production of supporting slide decks and processing of salary review outcomes with local HR teams in payroll to ensure a positive experience by both line managers, employees and the wider HR team
•Work with local HR teams to ensure multiple pay and benefits data is updated and maintained to reflect annual salary review outcomes for both ongoing reporting and people budgeting purposes
•Analysing, reviewing and redesigning compensation programs as well as supporting new market compensation strategy design and structure set up. Support benchmarking and job evaluation initiatives, sometimes providing market benchmarks for unique and complex roles across multiple geographies
•Produce reliable/credible data analysis across the Epson EMEAR reward spectrum (Base and variable pay, allowances, benefits including pension, Global Mobility etc.), identifying data trends from combining benchmarking data with Epson “as is” reward data, working closely with key business/HR stakeholders and third party providers, to ensure reward recommendations are supported by reliable and accurate data outcomes. Support the management of the annual bonus scheme process including the identification & communication of targets, calculation of individual bonus plan achievements and communication of bonus outcomes to ensure timely delivery of targets and achievements with all eligible employees
•Actively contribute to the EMEA HR Management Team by providing input on Compensation, regulation and broader HR topics
•Analyse pay components including base salaries, bonuses and incentives. Contribute to the development and evolution of other pay and incentive plans by conducting modelling to determine financial viability and ensuring competitiveness and alignment to Epson’s compensation philosophy and business goals
•Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities by evaluating processes for efficiencies, identifying improvements and implementing enhancements
•Provide competitive analyses for hiring and retention activities, as needed
•Share information, knowledge and best practices with EMEAR HR colleagues
•Perform additional duties and projects as requested by manager
•In conjunction with the Benefits Specialist drive the introduction of new benefits for priority markets and support the renewal of existing benefits across EMEAR, utilising the global pooling network from SEC to ensure the “as is” benefits practice by country is updated and maintained with 2017 market data and Epson’s benefit offer is developed, delivered and implemented
•Support the Reward, Recognition and Engagement Manager in standardizing reward policies and processes across Europe (e.g. EMEAR Travel & Expenses Regulations, EMEAR Company Car Policy, Global Mobility) to ensure EMEAR frameworks are in place to enable local execution in line with consistent guidelines
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: •An experienced Reward Specialist with strong analytical skills gained in a reward role, ideally in a European organisation
•Experience of both compensation and benefit programmes with the ability to demonstrate sound knowledge of employee benefits management, tax implications, grading, pay structures, pensions, pay and related legislation (e.g. gender pay)
•Experience of job evaluation systems, ideally Willis Towers Watson, Radford or comparable
•Advanced excel skills with proven analytical experience of interpreting and analysing multiple data requirements using the outputs of the analysis to propose recommendations to inform business options and outcomes
•Experience of utilising HR systems and reporting from HR systems to inform pay analysis – knowledge of SAP HR would be a particular advantage
•Confident communicator, with the ability to influence at all levels
•Self motivated and confident to identify opportunities for improvement in existing practices.
•Able to operate independently in a rapidly changing organisation
•Experience managing projects through a virtual team
•Strong networking skills, reward network including key reward providers – Willis Towers Watson, Mercer, Aon Hewitt, Hay etc
•Generalist HR experience beyond compensation and benefits would be advantageous
•Experience of global pooling arrangements would be an advantage
