Our Medical Services department is recruiting for an Admissions Administrator to join our busy, passionate and experienced team to provide a comprehensive administrative/ secretarial service to the Admissions Office.

You will be responsible for bed management; booking of medical investigations/appointments; ensuring each patient’s admission/discharge process needs are met - from referral, arrival and to discharge - from our Sir William Gowers Assessment Centre. You will also prepare and maintain medical notes; manage patient referrals and deal with telephone queries from patients, consultants and staff; collate inpatient data for KPI reporting. You will work closely with colleagues within our partner organisation, University College London Hospital (UCLH).

You should have previous, demonstrable experience in an administrative role and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and a confident telephone manner. You will be able to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate an understanding and empathy towards our patients’ needs. Previous NHS bed management, copy/audio typing and medical terminology experience would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.
