My client, a FTSE listed professional services organisation based in Belfast City Centre are hiring for a brand new role for an Audit and Compliance Manager in their flagship Belfast office.
The Audit and Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring appropriate levels of risk management over financial and operational environments and transactions within those environments. The Manager will be responsible for defining, designing and implementing the internal control framework, managing and performing testing of UK controls, leading and guiding any other UK testing, refreshing, updating and maintaining UK control matrices, working with business unit managers on gap resolutions and many ad hoc requests such as the control tool support. The role will focus on key business processes across the company and also include partnering very closely with business owners on process and control improvements and gap resolutions. The role will also include performing process reviews to evaluate current business practices, internal control structure, existing internal documentation, and implement any necessary changes or improvements; identify ICFR impact changes in the control environment due to the changes in accounting regulations, internal company policies, system enhancements or implementations, company reorganisations and make determinations for changes to existing controls or adding new controls when necessary. Support training efforts to improve the control understanding.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting/finance or related field.
Experience working in controls, audit/accounting/finance role and/or general experience with internal controls.
Exceptional organization, time management skills and ability to multi-task.
Experience identifying risks, controls, control gap analysis, and evaluating testing effectiveness.
Excellent team-player and interpersonal skills: strong written communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively across various levels in the organization.
Strong and strategic thought leadership to identify business needs and how to solve for them in efficient and innovative ways.
Project management experience; proven ability to continuously move forward multiple projects in various states.
Ability to effectively perform detailed analysis and big picture assessments of company processes and their related internal controls
Proven ability to meet stringent reporting deadlines.
Excellent influencing skills, including the ability to communicate complex financial and process issues to non-technical people
