Holiday Cottage Caretaker Jobs Vacancy at National Trust Seaton Jobs Details:
What makes a stay in a National Trust holiday cottage that extra bit special? There’s the dramatic location and the glorious scenery. There’s the getting-away-from-the-hustle-and-bustle feeling too. But for lots of our guests, it’s the thoughtful home-from-home touches. Like the fire you’ve prepared for them, to the biscuits and milk you’ve left out in case they’re peckish or craving a cup of tea.
Please note - The main place of work for this role is Shute Barton but you may be required to help out at other holiday cottages in the area.
What it's like to work here: The area includes a wide range of landscape and habitat types; from Lower Halsdon, bordering the internationally important Exe Estuary in the West, Dumpdon Hillfort on the Blackdown Hills and the chalk cliffs of the World Heritage Site at Branscombe in the East. The coastal properties are characterised by their cliffs, undercliffs and deep, wooded, coombes. Branscombe, nestling at the junction of three valleys is a classic example of an East Devon coastal village, where the Trust also owns a Water Mill, Forge and former bakery.

What you'll be doing: It’s the details like this that make you such a brilliant caretaker. On change-over days, you’ll make sure that everything’s clean and ready for our guests to arrive. This will include making sure beds are made, the laundry’s fresh and that the property is stocked up with fresh milk and flowers. We’d also like you to keep an eye out for any repairs or odd jobs that need doing. You’ll also be on hand to provide a warm welcome to our visitors and to respond to any questions or queries they may have during their stay.
