If you have an interest in academic administration, we are offering an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team within the University of Surrey’s Doctoral College. The Doctoral College is a new initiative that was established to support the academic and professional development of postgraduate and early career researchers and to ensure our world-leading research continues to grow.
This is a full-time role that underpins the effective operations of the Doctoral College. You will be responsible for delivering a high quality, professional service to staff and postgraduate research students and will manage a varied portfolio of administrative functions including: supporting events (such as inductions, training and conferences); maintaining and updating the Doctoral College website; supporting committees and working groups; managing financial transactions; and co-ordinating the admission of visiting doctoral researchers.
A good team player, you will have administration experience, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be required to operate with routine daily responsibilities within established processes and procedures with minimum day to day supervision. You will work closely with staff across a range of academic and professional services departments that support new researchers including the Researcher Development Programme, the Research Degrees Office and Careers and Employability.
To be successful in this role you will have strong team skills, excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
