Commercial Lead T45
Would you thrive in the challenging and dynamic environment of the Type 45 Programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Commercial Lead at our site in Portsmouth.
As a Commercial Lead, you will be tasked with working on the T45 programme managing the complexity of working across multiple contracting models with diverse customers, partners and suppliers with different priorities. You will also support the wider commercial team in delivering and implementing new contracting and customer engagement strategies.
This role will provide you with the opportunity of having direct contact with senior staff in the business, customer and supplier community building a strong stakeholder network whilst gaining fantastic levels of exposure to the enterprise as a whole.
Your main responsibilities as a Commercial Lead will involve:
Ensuring that the requisite Commercial skills are available to the internal customers, deputising for the Head of Commercial Warship Support as required
Managing and developing customer and partner relationships and engagement
Ensuring that the contract requirements and obligations are clear and unambiguous and that the programme teams are fully briefed on all commercial aspects
High level of customer interaction, managing customer expectations in terms of requirements and affordability
Ensuring timely delivery against deadlines and financial targets
Active participation in continuous business development and business improvement
Preparing and leading the presentation of RBA and LCM reviews
Influencing, review, drafting, negotiation and finalisation of complex bids, proposals and contracts / commercial agreements with MOD and our partners
Your skills and qualifications as a Commercial Lead:
Strong background in the UK defence industry ideally in the support environment
Extensive commercial experience and working within a similar role
Excellent relationship management skills and ability to influence key stakeholders and decision makers
Ability to adapt and respond to change in increasingly complex and dynamic situations and environments
Excellent communication skills and a proven capability of performing well under pressure
Ability to work on your own initiative and be confident to take the lead when required
Proven experience of people leadership
