The role

Work type (Acting for both landlords and flat owners for 2. onward):

1. Conveyancing

2. Leasehold management i.e. licences to alter and assign

3. Enfranchisement i.e. flat owner claims to extend their lease, acquire the freehold to their block or the right to manage in respect of it

4. Right of first refusal

Overview of role – Running matters with minimal supervision covering solicitor maternity leave.

Role includes:

  • Running sale, purchase, mortgage, statutory and voluntary lease extension claims and voluntary extension matters
  • Preparation of S5 notices etc.
  • Preparation of leases
  • Preparing SDLT forms
  • Complying with UK Finance requirements

The team

Our Lease Extension and Enfranchisement team provide specialist advice to flat owners and landlords in London and the South East on a wide range of property matters and have particular expertise in lease extension, freehold enfranchisement for flats and houses held on leases, collective enfranchisement, conveyancing (both commercial and residential), right to manage and right of first refusal.

Our lease extension team help both landlords and tenants find the best way to achieve their objectives, providing commercial advice in terms that reflect our knowledge of leasehold ownership.

Candidate specification

We are looking for a paralegal/Legal Exec/Junior solicitor for a 12 month contract to provide maternity cover. The candidate must have strong enfranchisement and/or conveyancing experience.

We would also be interested to hear from those with more experience in these areas and a following looking to move to increase their share of fees generated and for a non corporate environment. You would be helping to grow the existing team, raise our profile as well as servicing existing HNW and family office clients.
