Communications Officer

Who Our Opportunity is for:

We're looking for a proactive and dynamic Communications Officer to join our small but busy Communications team at The Countess of Chester Hospital.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in and passionate about communications with excellent writing and organisational skills to deliver wide ranging communications to a variety of audiences.

The role will have a particular focus on internal communications and you will be expected to build relationships with a whole range of people in the Trust. This is an exciting time to be part of Team Countess, an organisation focused on bringing the latest developments in innovation and technology to the patients of West Cheshire and North Wales as we strive to become The Model Hospital.

You will work closely with the other members of the Communications Team and be expected to support day to day tasks including media and social media monitoring, intranet and internet management and implementation of high quality communications plans to support organisation-wide projects and programmes.

You’ll need to be flexible to rapidly changing priorities and able to use your initiative to manage your own workload.

Our Trust:
The Countess of Chester Hospital is a 600-bed facility providing the full range of acute & a number of specialist services for approximately 260,000 residents of the historic city of Chester & the surrounding rural areas, Ellesmere Port & Neston. The Trust also manages Ellesmere Port Hospital, which is a rehabilitation, intermediate care & outpatient facility. We are the main Trust serving West Cheshire & we also provide services to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Local Health Board.


Once Offered Post:
If subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975, then a disclosure submission will be made to the Disclosure & Barring service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. The cost of this will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.
You have a responsibility to respond to any Safeguarding Children/Adult concerns that you encounter in your everyday duties. You must report any concerns as appropriate to your immediate manager & the relevant Safeguarding Lead within the Trust.

Overseas Applicants:
Overseas candidates are responsible for their travel expenses until the point of entry into Britain.
The Trust will not fund applications for Work Permits & Further Leave to Remain.
