Personal Assistant (PA), IMED Oncology

Location: Cambridge, UK

Oncology is a cross-functional group based in the UK, and US with the ability to discover and develop novel oncology small molecule drugs in partnership with internal AZ capabilities and through partnership with external companies and collaborative groups.

The IMED Oncology Administration Team is diversely skilled with high energy, ability and standards. Our sole purpose is to enable our talented scientists to focus on science and have seamless and professional interactions with colleagues across AZ and external collaborators. We are involved in a broad array of activities, from coordinating external scientific review meetings, designing com munication materials such as newsletters, posters and banners, to arranging global departmental town hall meetings.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Personal Assistant who will support the IMED . An individual with energy and enthusiasm to learn and develop, with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to join this fun and effective global team.

Main responsibilities:
Provide PA support to the IMED Oncology, proactively managing travel, calendar and email support

Provide administrative support to the broader departments (primarily their leadership teams)

Work as part of a global administration team in the UK. Actively collaborate with colleagues to support the department, ensuring that customers' needs are being met at all times

&l t;li >Use independent judgement to provide timely and effective administrative support and consistently manage own workload priorities

Manage all aspects of local and overseas travel and expense reports

Provide logistical support for staff recruitment

Coordinate internal and external meetings. Take responsibility for coordinating meeting agenda, travel arrangements and meeting amenities where required

Privy to confidential information; demonstrates discretion at all times

Proactive involvement in the development and maintenance of processes and initiatives within the administration team, promoting best practice and playing an important role in improvement projects

Develop personal expertise in systems used within AstraZeneca

Manage department admin information e.g. organisation charts, resource management dat abase and SharePoint sites.

Essential skills/experience:
Proven experience of providing full PA/administrative support to senior leaders

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Significant experience of working in a customer orientated role

Ability to think beyond boundaries of own job, challenge status quo and seek opportunities for continuous improvement

Excellent team working, networking and influencing skills with ability to engage relevant AstraZeneca staff and leaders at all levels, in developing solutions

Excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload, plan ahead and multi-task

Good time management, pro-activity, flexibility and attention to detail working to the h ighest standards of accuracy and presentation

Delivery and results focused

Assertiveness and strong personal resilience

Operation of standard office equipment and Microsoft packages

Numerate and accurate

High level of confidentiality and discretion.

Desired skills/experience:
Relevant professional administrative qualification

Knowledge of the AstraZeneca business and our processes.
