Kate Edwards is recruiting for a Process Technician to join a company in the Pharmaceutical industry at their site based in Speke, Liverpool on a contract basis for 12 months.
To provide operational support for R&D and manufacturing support activities within the development team. The role will broadly cover Biotech, Nutritional Products and Natural Product areas depending on business needs and will require responsibility for the operation and data processing for small scale fermentation instrumentation. The work will be predominantly based in the laboratory, large laboratory area and pilot plants. Some office based work will be required for documentation and communication.
Key Responsibilities will be:
Working with the scientist team to plan, resource and execute process steps for process definition, optimisation work and material supply.
Supporting laboratory activities/preparations for and executing the experimental program e.g. proactive ordering of consumables and preparation of raw materials, buffer makeups, shake flasks and supporting documentation.
Supporting process scale up activities (pilot scale).
Maintaining the development lab and pilot plant areas in excellent order.
Preparation and use of EHS documentation such as CoSHH and Risk assessments. Actively participating in active monitoring.
Provision of quality data. Prepare, use and maintenance of documentation such as laboratory work books, equipment records, batch production records in a legible & logical order and in compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP). Processing and presentation of high volumes of data in a clear and consistent manner to support technical review
Perform routine analytical testing as required.
Work with engineering personnel to identify and diagnose lab equipment operational, calibration and reliability issues and to support the routine preventative maintenance programmes.
Participate in technical discussions with the scientist team, provide updates.
Issuing of Task Safety Assessments (TSA's) for low risk tasks in the laboratory.
Developing a good understanding of the overall R&D and manufacturing processes you are working on.
As a Process technician, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
A degree qualification in a science (or related discipline).
Relevant operational or laboratory experience, particularly in aseptic techniques
Good learning agility with the ability to pick up new techniques easily.
Some knowledge of Health and Safety expectations for the laboratory environment
Interest in the wider pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Demonstrate initiative, working towards continuous improvement activities.
