We are looking to recruit waste operatives to join our friendly and hard- working waste management team based at Southampton General Hospital.

The waste department is an essential part of the hospital as it is responsible for the disposal of all types of waste so this position is vital to ensure the hospital runs smoothly every day of the week. The role is to transfer waste from holding areas to the waste compound via big wheeled bins so good fitness and communications skills are required. All training and PPE will be supplied to carry out this role.

The hours can include weekends and bank holidays which will include enhanced pay.

We are looking for a team player who is able to work on their own with little supervision and who is could be asked at short notice to come into work.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited. UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible. UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
