Fertecon, part of the FTSE 100 Informa Group, currently has an opportunity for an Economic Market Research Analyst to join their market-leading information brand. In this role, you will be joining the analysis team responsible for data collection, analysis, and the development of an overarching “storyline” describing what data tells us and why one may assume events turned in a certain way. Data and analysis are conveyed to Fertecon’s subscribers mainly in the form of written market reports.
Fertecon is the world's most respected provider of market information and analysis on fertilizers and fertilizer raw materials. We have been a reliable source of information to the industry for over 30 years and services range from current market and price reports through to in-depth long-term supply/demand and price forecast studies.
The successful candidate will become part of Fertecon’s team of analysts dedicated to fertilizer markets. The main focus of this post is to publish and constantly develop a publication focused on a specific commodity market.
What we are looking for:
Education: Degree level qualification or equivalent qualification is essential
Writing skills: a significant part of the job will be related to the writing of a quarterly publication, therefore the candidate will need to be able to convey sophisticated thoughts in a clear form.
Logical thinking: You will be able to develop consistent views on potential questions, showing an inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
Numeracy: many tasks are data-intensive, therefore familiarity with basic mathematics is required.
Statistics: basic statistics will be very useful (mode, median, quantiles…). Understanding of statistical modelling is a plus, but is not a prerequisite.
Software: comfortable with the basic functionalities of MS Word and MS Excel.
