Technical Pensions Analyst Ref Jobs Vacancy at Xafinity Reading Jobs Details:
The Technical Pensions Analyst will join a centralised team who work to support the
administration teams in the day to day task of providing administration services to small to
medium sized Occupational Pension Schemes. The person will join a team who are responsible for
maintaining, developing and supporting the system requirements of the administration teams.
Main duties and responsibilities Objective • To identify systems and workflow process enhancements to increase the Pension
Administration Teams’ efficiencies and create, develop and implement new procedures in line with the business needs.
• To manage the ‘projects’ identified from the Administration business, to deliver the efficiencies requested.
Core Tasks • Undertake project work as directed by the business • Production of accurate benefit calculation specifications in accordance with business
requirements • Undertake and as appropriate coordinate user acceptance testing • Working with Lead tester; helping to review testing output • Identify system and process issues and recommend documented solutions • Deliver training, coaching and development to Admin Team on system and scheme design • Manage fault feedback to ensure issues are rectified and communicated • Undertake fault resolution and investigation alongside systems team • Undertake project work as directed by the business

• Manage and implement new business installations with chosen implementation team
Clients • Liaise with Consultants/Actuaries/Legal on the review of benefit scheme design to create
specifications and ultimately to obtain sign off within agreed timescales • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the Admin and System teams • To work with new clients on Pension Administration service implementation • Maintain thorough understanding and application of scheme benefit structures, Trust Deed
and Rules, HMRC and Disclosure requirements. • Act as a focal point for all technical queries
→ Ensure compliance with scheme rules, industry regulations and pensions legislation → Provide expert advice and guidance → Assess complex technical pension issues and provide specialist expertise to team
members → Contribute to the design and development of new approaches and solutions in line with
business and/or client needs → Establishes and maintain process for managing and administering sufficient quality
controls → Apply and revise as required process to ensure continued accuracy and quality of
calculations and external communications → Produce technically sound processes and procedures → Build and maintain good relationships with clients → Provide expert guidance and coaching to team members → Collate and analyse data to produce solutions → Contributes to the achievement of the departmental budget → Maintain awareness of other business activities and work-flexibly across other
departments → Ad-hoc activities as determined by the business
Financial • Contribute to identifying additional fee generating opportunities • Contributes to achievement of the departmental budget System • Ensure adherence to the Business Process Management System. • Contribute to systems development through: • Creating and agreeing specifications • Ensuring UAT is fully completed • Reviewing and testing product upgrades including self service • Ensuring sign off of projects and calculations • Work with Client, business and systems team to ensure quality of self service site information • Ensure efficiency and accuracy of workflows and negotiate improvements • Becomes expert resource for business on system processing • Work as a conduit between systems team and administration teams on best practice groups

Job Requirements Qualifications & Experience • Preferably educated at least to ‘A’ level standard • Degree in mathematics or another numerate subject is desirable but not essential • Relevant qualifications in the Pensions Industry desirable (e.g. Pensions Management Institute
Certification, Qualification in Pensions Administration – QPA). • Direct, relevant experience of the Pensions Industry with proven and demonstrable project
and people management skills. Skills & Knowledge • Good interpersonal skills • Good written and communication skills • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills • Desire to improve standards and develop new procedures and working practices • Good commercial financial awareness • Solid awareness of scheme rules, industry regulations, current pensions legislation and how
these impact on the business and its systems • General all round knowledge of company products and services • Good working knowledge of Xafinity Consulting’s products and services • Strong systems application knowledge • Previous experience in a pensions/financial services environment • Experience of dealing with external clients
