Applications from Nurses, with over 6 month’s acute or critical care experience; for the post of Band 5 Staff Nurse on the Critical Care Unit. The unit is funded for 14 beds, 8 level 3 and 6 level 2 patients.

The Critical Care Unit is located in a purpose built department within Whiston Hospital, and has state of the art facilities.

Critical Care is committed to the ongoing development of its service, in supporting improvements within its service provision. There is an established induction programme for new staff, supported by the Practice Development Nurse. Successful applicants will have knowledge, skills, commitment and determination to developing oneself and contributing to the ongoing development of a successful service. Suitable applicants will have the relevant experience and/or enthusiasm in working within the Critical Care environment.

The Trust has a combined bed capacity of approximately 875 beds at Whiston and St Helens hospitals and provides a full range of acute in-patient, out-patient, day case and emergency services to the local communities of St Helens, Knowsley, Halton and Liverpool, extending to Cheshire, Merseyside, North Wales and the Isle of Man with the Regional Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit.
