The School of Health Sciences and Social Work, University of Portsmouth, continues to expand its pre-registration nursing provision to meet the increased demand for adult nurses. We currently recruit two cohorts (September and January) to our NMC approved BN (Hons) Nursing (Adult) programme. The School has a clear vision for the future; to be a centre of excellence for simulated clinical education, innovation and research and our simulation facilities are exceptional.
To help us achieve our vision, we are seeking a Lecturer in Nursing to contribute to teaching excellence, innovation and research in nursing. The successful candidate will be a Nurse who can effectively articulate their contribution to improving patient services, through education, research and innovation. We actively encourage and support those staff who are ambitious in their own career development, through doctoral studies.
We encourage applications from those with specialist interest in one or more of the following:
- Advanced nursing practice in acute, community or integrated settings
- Nursing care and management of specialist patients groups
For Lecturer roles, recent experience of facilitating student-centred nursing education in clinical or higher education settings is desirable, along with the motivation and ability to contribute to relevant research.
For these roles, you should possess appropriate professional qualifications; registration on Sub Part 1 of the NMC register is usual, a Degree/postgraduate qualification in health or a related subject is essential.
We welcome and actively encourage informal visits to see the facilities for nurse education and discussion in relation to these posts. To arrange this, please contact Dr Isobel Ryder, programme lead for nursing: email@example.com.
