Associate Lecturer Jobs Vacancy at University York York Jobs Details:
You will contribute to the delivery of a broad range of teaching in the Department including seminars, lectures and assessment. We are seeking candidates with expertise that enables them to teach on a broad range of modules across Sociology. We wish to appoint one candidate with specific expertise in the sociology of crime and deviance to contribute to our criminology programmes. You will also be expected to contribute to the administrative responsibilities of the Department and in supporting students in their learning and University experience.
You will have a postgraduate degree in Sociology and/or Criminology (or allied discipline) and will have a detailed knowledge in these disciplines sufficient to develop teaching and provide relevant learning support to students across different levels of academic ability. A PhD in Sociology and/or Criminology or allied discipline is desirable.
You will be able to supervise students and contribute to the design and development of course material within the Department, and will have experience using different delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
This post is available on a fixed term basis for 22 months.
