Java Architect/ Hands on required by Leading Investment Bank no prior experience required in Banking domain required. £80k - £90k + Bonus It's a really interesting role. In essence your role is to sit between several different product teams, working in close collaboration with several POs finding inefficiencies in the way separate teams are working, and then proposing, designing and implementing solutions to combat such inefficiencies. You'll still be hands on with tech switching between Tech lead and architect responsibilities where necessary, so this will really suit a hands on tech lead/architect who still likes to play with code.
The stack is Java 8 , Spring, Rest, AWS, so ideally you'll be well versed in each tech, that said, we are much more interested in your Design and Architecture experience than ticking a load of boxes. We have great training budgets in place and a team full of specialists to bring you up to scratch on any technology or tool necessary. To be considered for the role you'll need to demonstrate the following experience: 1) Java Hands on Java Engineer with Design and Architecture experience - you'll be technically confident enough to design solutions from scratch. 2) Currently the team are working with Java 8 so ideally be experienced working with this latest version, worst case scenario Java 7.
3) Character given your role is to find inefficiencies, you'll need to be a confident character and strong communication to a) find the initial inefficiency, and b) define and document your proposed solution 4) Prior experience working in a Political environment: This is a huge bank. There is a lot of red tape. We're looking for prior experience working in such an environment where you've either adhere to red-tape, or found an effective and diplomatic way of find your way through it. The role is paying up to £90k (DOE) and comes with a 10% bonus, training budget (no strings attached), 28 days holiday, 6% pension and a plethora of other benefits.
