As a customer service assistant, you’ll spend a lot of time on your feet stocking shelves, serving barista coffee, running the till, cleaning the store and keeping the place looking tidy. It’s a tough job that will keep you busy, but you’ll be working in a fun environment as part of a dedicated team. What you’ll need
You don’t need any previous retail experience. We’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, friendly, caring, and have a natural flair for great customer service.
You do need to be polite, hard-working and able to work well within a team. Plus you’ll need to be comfortable approaching customers with confidence. You’ll also need to be at least 18 years old as part of the role involves working with fuel.
What you’ll get in return
Before you start, you’ll be asked to complete some online training that will get you up to speed with BP Retail. This way, you can feel confident of what is expected of you in your new role before you walk through the door. You can complete the training on your own computer at home and you’ll be paid for the time you spend on it.
As well as your salary, you’ll get paid holiday, flexible hours, a pension scheme, a share save scheme (so you can own a part of BP) and 15% discount on most in-store goods. While on duty you can have free hot drinks from Wild Bean Café and, if your shift is more than four hours, half-price meals – for a full-time worker this can be worth as much as £15 per week in your back pocket! After you’ve successfully completed your 12-week probationary period we’ll also increase your pay – depending on which store you’re working in, this can be up to an extra 50p per hour. You’ll get a premium rate for overtime or bank holidays and may receive bonuses in the form of shopping vouchers.
