Our next Senior International Sales Manager will be an experienced, results-driven and successful sales professional eager to provide the leadership and direction for our international rights and co-edition sales, as well as pieces of our export business. This will be achieved through developing, leading, and delivering on our sales goals for international rights and co-editions, and forging a path forward in this market. The position encompasses direct selling and channel management responsibility for all markets excluding North America and some export markets including, but not limited to, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Eastern Europe, Russia, Latin America, and Japan, for adult non-fiction and all territories outside of North America for children’s titles. Both adult trade illustrated nonfiction and children’s books will be part of this remit. A role in Bonnier Publishing is an opportunity to be a part of something uniquely different. What You’ll Be Doing: Managing all aspects of day-to-day business while providing strategic direction and leadership for all international rights and co-edition sales outside of North America and certain export territories. Managing and supporting established rights, commission based, and house reps for adult non-fiction product for France, the Netherlands, Germany, Korea and China. Creating annual plans to meet and exceed budget by market, including contingency plans during course of year as needed. Advising the Bonnier Publishing USA team via email, phone calls and regular conference calls including sales update meetings and weekly team meetings. Providing monthly and quarterly revenue and sales forecasts by territory, communicating sales progress, pinpointing drivers for exceeding or missing budget, identifying new sales opportunities and sharing relevant trends which impact business. Working closely with publishing team and US offices in order to have a thorough understanding of the current books and the forthcoming publishing program and to plan for appropriate sales materials and new book information for international customers. Working directly with production department on product pricing, shipping information, and production scheduling. Establishing strong and effective relationships with existing publishing clients, commission reps, and Bonnier Publishing UK sales team while actively researching and developing new customers for Bonnier Publishing USA product. Tracking and managing international royalty deals and ongoing sales status by deal and providing regular sales forecasts & sales status reports, as requested. Liaising with co-edition partners for send out of translation material, contracts, and related co-edition matters Traveling to accounts as needed for sales purposes, US offices as needed, and traveling to attend London Book Fair, Frankfurt Book Fair, and Bologna Book Fairs, and others as needed.
