Hours: 40 hours per week. Some week-end & Evening Work We will consider a job share where we will appoint a senior youth worker and a youth programme co-ordinator/manager. Overall aim of the post To plan, implement and evaluate Ansar Youth Project’s youth programme. Accountable to: Board of Trustees/Management Committee Line Managed by Chair Accountable for: Overall responsibility for line management of volunteers, hired tutors, senior youth workers hired in the future and youth workers.
Management and Support The board of trustees and the management committee will determine the overall direction of the organisation’s work, and will set overall priorities in consultation with the youth programme coordinator. The board of trustees will be responsible for ensuring that there is appropriate support and consultancy available to the Youth Programme Co-ordinator. Specific Duties Management To manage staff and volunteers and ensure that all HR procedures and policies are up to date and in place. To develop and implement a youth programme for young men and women separately in conjunction with the committee.
To manage the allocation of the O2 Think Big Programme and support young people in submitting applications. Support the management and training of the youth management committee. Create and run recruitment twice a year for new volunteers. To ensure that all bookings of the building are in accordance with the lettings policy set by the management committee agreed by the PCC.
To develop and implement policies and procedures required for the running of the organisation including Health and Safety, Child Protection, Food and Hygiene, Equal Opportunities, and to ensure staff and volunteers receive adequate training in these. To develop and implement appropriate monitoring procedures for every area of the organisation’s work. To maintain company records for Companies House and the Charities Commission. To produce quarterly reports for board of trustees Financial To create a youth programme using the budget allocated To research, source and make application for funding as well as completing reports back to funders.
To prepare accounts with the organisation’s treasurer and arrange for accounts to be audited and submitted to Companies House and Charities Commission. Fundraising Develop fundraising strategy with Board of Trustees and Management Committee. Work with local community centres and mosques to run fundraising events Utilise new AYP building to generate Income Research possibility of setting up a charity shop Support Peace Youth and Community Trust in its fundraising initiatives. General To carry out any other appropriate duties in line with the aims of the organisation and agreed with the management committee.
Manage the office facilities and act as main correspondent for Ansar Youth Project and Peace Youth and Community Trust as directed. Develop new partnerships and maintain good relationships with current partners. Experience Essential Management experience in the voluntary sector and youth projects Developing programmes outside of traditional education settings Setting budgets and overall spend Fund raising Staff Management Experience Preferred but not essential Setting and running projects to budget Marketing and PR HR Co-ordination of casual staff and volunteers Charity Law Qualifications Educated to degree level essential and youth work training. If candidate does not have any professional youth work training he/she must agree to undertake in his/her time during the period of the contract.
Will consider someone on a gap year after A levels if they have completed their A Levels to a high standard.
