Administrative Officer Durham Jobs Vacancy at Valuation Office Agency Durham Jobs Details:

The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is an executive agency of HMRC with circa 3,500 staff. Our main functions are to compile and maintain the business rating and council tax valuation lists for England and Wales, value property in England, Wales and Scotland for the purposes of taxes administered by HMRC, provide statutory and non-statutory property valuation services in England, Wales and Scotland, determine Local Housing Allowance levels and register fair rents in England.

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident individual, with strong communication and organizational skills to attain Fixed Term Contract as an Administrative Officer (AO) in Durham NSO. Initial contract will be for 6 months with the chance of extension.

The role is primarily a contact role using various mediums; telephone, email and written correspondence (internal and external customers).

The VOA is a flexible working employer but we operate business hours 8:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday ( there may be a business need to cover Contact and other duties during these times)

The duties will include casework registration, data processing, searching and interrogating electronic and manual databases.

Other duties may include

• Operating office machinery such as photocopier, electronic scanner, printers and fax.

• Handle post, filing, and produce standard letters.

• Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers by email, telephone and in writing.

• Support the Line Manager in the day-to-day supervision of staff at AA level, including training, quality assurance, and monitor work progression throughout the centre.

• To carry out searches and interrogation of the databases, casework validation and registration and data processing.

• Carry out a range of administrative tasks and support functions to assist management as requested.

• Support colleagues with Victer computer system related technical or complex enquires and provide solutions

This list is not exhaustive and the role holder may also be required to carry out other Administrative Officer roles and responsibilities.

Candidates should possess a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook and possess keyboard skills or be prepared to learn these as they are essential for this role.

Qualifications Candidates must possess 5 GCSE's including English Language at grade C or above or equivalent.

Candidates will be required to bring proof of qualifications to interview and interviews will not be held unless this proof is provided
