Job Title: YC Hertfordshire Personal Advisers – Virtual School 16+ Team
Location: Goldings House, Hatfield
Salary Range:£29,854 – £32,164 pa pa (pro rata for part-time)
Hours: 37 per week
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support young people who are Looked After by Hertfordshire County Council and care leavers in education employment and training. You will ensure the needs of young people are met so that they are confident in accessing education, training or work. You will have a caseload of young people, through a variety of platforms, providing support and identifying and addressing their barriers to personal development, learning and work through both one to one and group work interventions. You will be working in partnership with carers, social care staff, education services and other agencies who support this group of young people.
To be considered for this role you must be qualified with either NVQ - Level 4 Learning and Development and Support Services for children young people and those who care for them, the Diploma in Careers Guidance parts 1 and 2 or the Qualification in Careers Guidance or Level 6 in Advice and Guidance. Substantial experience of working with vulnerable young people and a good understanding of the barriers that children looked after and care leavers experience.
In addition, you will have excellent communication and IT skills as you will record data on relevant management information systems, producing reports and correspondence as required. This post requires an enhanced DBS check.
Although this is a county wide post this person will be responsible for our work in the east of the county.
You must also have a full driving licence and access to a car.
