Counsel, Business Conduct Compliance
Would you like to be part of an in-house team in a varied and challenging role? We currently have a vacancy for a Counsel, Business Conduct Compliance at our site in Farnborough.
As a Counsel, Business Conduct Compliance, you will be responsible for embedding and continually developing an anti-bribery and corruption compliance management system designed to ensure compliance with regard to all matters relating to legal and reputational risk from an anti-bribery and corruption perspective.
This Counsel position will provide you with the opportunity to be involved in a role which is challenging with high level of visibility and a global reach. To succeed, you will be a strong negotiator with proven influencing skills.
Your main responsibilities as a Counsel, Business Conduct Compliance will involve:
Supporting the Head of BCC to ensure compliance with regard to the appointment, management and payment of Advisers in accordance with the BAE Systems Advisers Policy and Procedures
Managing any claims notified to the Company by former Advisers
Conducting compliance investigations
Supporting the Head of BCC to provide advice, training, regular compliance verification reviews and to promulgate a principles driven compliance culture in respect of the anti-corruption policies for which the team are responsible
Supporting the Head of BCC to provide advice and assistance in respect of the compliance aspects of proposed M&A transactions and working with the relevant business to integrate the BCC policies into any newly acquired entities
Supporting the Head of BCC to work with BAE Systems, Inc. to facilitate uniform global operating systems for the appointment, management and payment of Advisers
Helping to provide a world class service in connection with compliance issues relating to the conduct of international business
Helping drive leadership, engagement and ownership of world class training programmes in connection with the Group’s policies and procedures, relating to ethics and standards in business dealings
Assisting with the continual development and oversight of robust compliance programmes throughout the Group
Your skills and qualifications as a Counsel, Business Conduct Compliance:
Qualified Solicitor/Barrister with good graduate qualifications
Anti-Bribery Corruption (ABC) knowledge
Experience within commercial contracts or merger and acquisitions or experience of conducting litigation
Defence industry knowledge would be desirable
