We are recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join our growing team at our 10 acre Range Centre site at the London Distribution Park in Tilbury from where we distribute materials to over 100 local Travis Perkins branches with night and next day deliveries.
As a Warehouse Operative you will be responsible for a range of warehouse duties, working within company security and health & safety guidelines ensuring the effective and safe operation of the facility. These duties will include goods in, check in, replenishment, picking, packing, loading, participation in stock takes and housekeeping all whilst utilising appropriate documentation and equipment. The use of Mechanical Handling Equipment (and some manual lifting) will be involved and as such you will need the ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism towards safety.
We are looking for previous experience of working in a similar role within a warehouse operation, ideally with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) competency certification (FLT, Counterbalance, Reach, Combi Truck, Low level order picker, Side loader) although training can be offered. A customer focused attitude, demonstrable self motivation, confidence, enthusiasm with a personal drive to achieve set targets whilst working as part of a team are also key. Working Monday to Friday only on the 1400-2200 shift with all bank holidays and Christmas off. With 70% of the work in the outdoor environment we are looking for tenacious individuals willing to take on a challenge.
