The Psychology programme at Regent’s University London is one of the most successful in the UK, offering three BPS-accredited degrees, an MSc in Marketing Psychology and a BA Liberal Arts major in Psychology. Psychology at Regent’s was ranked sixth for student satisfaction in the 2017 NSS. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed, and well-qualified laboratory technician in Psychology to join the team and support our teaching and research and continue with this success.
Working with a staff of around 20 permanent and visiting lecturers, you will report to the Head of Programmes for Psychology and you will have considerable scope to demonstrate your initiative and explore new ideas and projects. You will be responsible for the maintenance and management of the Psychology laboratory and testing cubicles, and for overseeing laboratory use and space generally. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in the operation and use of Macs/PCs, of Blackboard, ePrime, SPSS, Surveymonkey, Superlab, MATLAB, QUALTRICS, and other software programmes routinely used in Psychology. Experience of BIOPAC, psychophysiology recording, and Tobii eye-tracking hardware and software would be an advantage.
You will have a good degree in Psychology or a cognate discipline and have an MSc in Psychology. Some experience of having worked in HE teaching in psychology, and experience of having worked in psychology laboratories, is desirable. Ideally we are looking for someone to commence as soon as possible with a view to providing a handover period between the current and successful post holder.
