Our client is an innovative not-for-profit that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. They are now looking for a Service Manager to join their team.

As the Service Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering our client’s café in Chertsey Hospital.

Overseeing a team of paid staff and volunteers, you’ll motivate them to deliver great customer service and perform tasks in-line with the organisation’s standards. You’ll recruit new team members and develop their skills to ensure that they fulfil their potential.

Managing resources, you will promote the service locally, respond to enquiries and ensure that any issues are swiftly resolved.

You’ll forge excellent working relationships with key local contacts, including health trusts, suppliers and voluntary organisations, to further develop our client’s service.

Additionally, you’ll monitor income and expenditure, as well as supporting a variety of fundraising activities.

Interested? To be considered, you must have:

  • Experience gained at management level in a retail environment
  • Proven people management and/or motivational skills
  • Knowledge of EPOS systems
  • Proficiency in industry standard IT systems, such as MS Office, email and the internet to a basic level
  • The willingness to undertake training and continue your professional development
Organised and focused, as the Service Manager, you must have great interpersonal and communication skills. You must also have a team player mentality and superb planning abilities.

Ideally, you’ll also have experience of working with volunteers and/or volunteer-led support groups, but this is by no means essential. GCSE level qualifications would also be beneficial, as would a full driving licence.

Please note, this is a full time role, working 35 hours per week over five days.
