Security Manager Jobs Vacancy at Chester Zoo Chester Jobs Details:
To assist the Head of Site Operations to maintain the highest standards of security framework and culture at the Zoo; by providing a world class service through these standards and security provisioning, ensuring that the zoo and its assets are safe at all times
To regularly review and manage the security risk register to ensure that a proactive approach to managing all security risks is undertaken, producing vulnerability KPIs to score our effectiveness and seeking continual improvement
To be aware and have a good understanding of current security legislation and trends both specifically in leisure and tourism along with the wider security sector to ensure the Zoo are leaders in the industry
To manage the incident management policy and procedures including their design, wider team training, and the conducting of regular exercises
To provide regular advice, guidance, support and coaching for directors, managers and staff on relevant security matters to ensure we have an effective security provision
To develop and manage all physical security measures, policies and standard operating procedures to maximise the team’s effectiveness
To be responsible for setting, achieving and monitoring the Security budgets
To fulfill the role of Duty Manager on a shared rota to ensure the Zoo operates both commercially and securely
The successful candidate will have:
Proven security management experience operating at Security Manager or Head of Security level with a relevant security qualification
A comprehensive working knowledge of security best practice and legislation
Current SIA front line door supervisor and SIA public space CCTV licences
First Aid at Work and FPOS qualifications
Experience of managing security in a high volume visitor environment, such as a leisure or visitor attraction, stadium, airport, large shopping facility etc.
Exceptional customer service skills
Experience as a people manager who is able to lead and inspire a team in a range of disciplines
Experience of implementing operational related policies and procedures
A good practical knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and setting targets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise at a management level
A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of balancing customer requirements and service capabilities with the need to maintain a safe and secure environment
A full driving licence valid in the UK
