The Safran HEUK Business Development Manager's primary role is to develop and execute an ambitious industrial growth campaign based on the Company's latest Industrial Strategy. This will involve the identification of new business opportunities in both the new manufacturing (NM) and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sectors for aerospace components. The identification of new strategic customers and NM/MRO programmes relevant to Safran HEUK's core capabilities will be critical and the BDM will be responsible for creating and managing a sales funnel to meet challenging growth targets.

The BDM will also be responsible for proactively managing and growing existing industrial accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients, ensuring our performance and relationships with these clients positions the company positively for the future.

This role requires a thorough knowledge of the aerospace manufacturing and MRO market and the successful candidate will need to quickly assimilate a detailed understanding of Safran HEUK's products, services and capabilities along with those of the company's competitors. The candidate will need to possess the ability to quickly build strong and trusting relationships with new and existing clients and to be persuasive and compelling when communicating Safran HEUK's value proposition to them. They will need to excel at targeted networking and to be adept at executing persuasive sales campaigns to prospective clients including the creation of powerful marketing messages.

The BDM will report to the Safran HEUK Commercial and Customer Support Director and will work with mid and senior level management, marketing and technical staff.

The candidate must have:
  • 10-20 years proven working experience as a business
Development Manager
  • 5-10 years' proven working experience in customer support or
relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Financial knowledge and experience
  • Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport and network
  • English speaker and ability to speak French
The candidate should have:
  • Contract writing and law
  • Time management and planning skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Create Key Account business plans and strategy
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet capability
