It has a helipad which opened in spring 2014 and the work of its emergency department can currently be seen on Channel 4’s ‘24 Hours in A&E’ programme. The hospital also provides all the usual care you would expect from a local NHS district general hospital. We also provide services at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Roehampton. These include outpatient rapid diagnostic and treatment facilities, a minor injuries unit, limb fitting services and 70 elderly, intermediate care and rehabilitation beds.

As well as hospital services, we provide a wide variety of specialist, maternity and community services to children, adults, older people and people with learning disabilities. These services are provided from St John’s Therapy Centre, 11 health centres and clinics, schools, nursing homes and people’s own homes. The trust also manages the healthcare service at HMP Wandsworth. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to take up an exciting and challenging position of Practice Educator for Haematology and Oncology at St Georges University Hospitals Foundation Trust, London.

The Trust is widely recognised and is the subject of the successful TV program 24hrs. In A&E, it is also one of the country's largest teaching hospitals with around 6,000 staff and treating more than 500,000 patients every year in South West London. The Trust achieves excellence in cancer treatment and diagnosis, through partnership and collaboration. The Trust provides all cancer unit services to the local population and sees around 2,000 new cancer patients every year.

Here is an ideal opportunity for an experienced haematology and/or oncology nurse with up-to-date relevant experience and skills in haematology and/or oncology, with an interest in practice development and the continued education of nurses employed within the Haematology and Oncology department at St Georges Hospital.field of haematology and/or oncology and have worked in a Senior Staff nurse/junior Ward manager position demonstrating these skills on a day to day basis. Excellent communication skills are essential in addition to proven teaching and assessing skills.You will be supported within a strong clinical and management structure, providing excellence in care, education and encouragement to maximise your potential, development and success.
