CCS has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Communications Officer to join their team in Liverpool or London. We are looking for a candidate with the creativity to deliver a series of large-scale integrated marketing and communications campaigns across the entire public sector - with the support and resources you need to deliver real results. You will be able to demonstrate a track-record of working on digitally-led campaigns that support the delivery of corporate objectives. What we do
The post holder will support the delivery of a series of communications activities and campaigns to support CCS in achieving its key corporate objectives. Working under the direction of the Senior Communications Officer they will support CCS through using their experience of channel planning and digital marketing techniques to support greater engagement and collaboration with new and existing customers across the entire public sector to achieve growth and increased savings.
Support the design and development of innovative and integrated internal communications strategies, working within and drawing inspiration from the Government Communication Service modern operating model.
Handle media enquiries, supporting the Senior Communications Officer to provide clear briefing for the media and other partners.
Develop productive working relationships with communications colleagues, policy officials and key stakeholders, to help develop and implement communications plans.
Generate and deliver content ideas and write news releases, social media posts and briefings.
Ensure the most appropriate and cost effective channels mix is used to maximise the potential of digital channels.
Edit, revise and optimise copy and content according to audience insight to maximise impact
Support the development of communication plans considering resources and budgets. Identify risks and plan mitigating actions.
Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on writing clearly for target audiences.
Participate in the press office out-of-hours duty rota.
Inquisitive mindset, comfortable in using data to tell a story and make recommendations.
Excellent communication planning skills.
Demonstrable experience of measurement and evaluation techniques (outcome focused, robust, consistent).
Experience in a strategic communications function with a track record of collaboration.
Good influencer, skilled at communicating with senior stakeholders verbally and in writing, providing expert advice and challenge.
Committed to continuous improvement, finding new ways to make things more effective and efficient.
Significant experience using IT systems including Googledocs, PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook.
