Product Environmental Engineer
Would you like to work with cutting edge defence technology on some of the most complex armoured vehicle platforms in the country? We currently have a vacancy for a Product Environmental Engineer at our site in Telford, Glascoed or Washington.
As a Product Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for the Safety Management contract for the armoured trucks portfolio.
This role will provide you with the opportunity of contributing to defence of the realm, supporting the British Army. This role will provide you with exposure to working with different elements of this product.
Your main responsibilities as a Product Environmental Engineer will involve:
Maintaining, updating and ensuring adequacy of the Product Environmental Management Plans (PEMP) in line with Policy and Contractual Requirements
Implementing and ensuring compliance with the BAE Land UK management systems requirements for Product Environment including materials management
Managing production of Product Environmental deliverables
Acting as the Subject Matter Expert on product environment
Collating and managing Environmental evidence in support of Environmental case development
Identifying opportunities for improvement with respect to product environmental
Being aware of environmental legislation changes and assess the impact on products in own area of responsibility
Ensuring Environmental and Hazardous Material justifications are documented and reviewed appropriately
Producing Environmental Case Reports as appropriate to meet programme needs
Your skills and qualifications:
Product Safety Engineering knowledge and willingness to develop this as secondary skill
Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems
Knowledge of managing and dealing with environmental technical issues
Knowledge of implementing environmental legislation
A positive attitude to environmental protection
A positive attitude to development of self, team and service provided
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Knowledge of identifying environmental aspects/Impacts and risks and demonstrating suitable techniques for their mitigation
Ability to acquire membership of approved environmental professional body

You will have the ability to make sound, informed judgements and the integrity to challenge when necessary. You will have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work, with excellent attention to detail.
Location: Telford, Glascoed or Washington.
Salary: £40k +
