The Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department at the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a Trainee Associate Practitioner. Enthusiastic, friendly and well-motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal skills are invited to apply for this post.
Trainee Associate Practitioner: Health Care Science (Band 3 £16,968-£19,852) progressing to Associate Practitioner: Health Care Science (Band 4 £19,409- £22,683)
You will work under the supervision of HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientists in the Haematology and Blood Transfusion Department.
You will perform basic laboratory tasks, use the laboratory computer system and become proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, ensuring Standard Operating Procedures are followed. You will also undertake Quality Control testing and ensure Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
You will work towards the Level 4 Apprenticeship in Health Care Science when available.
During this training period you will be employed as a Trainee Associate Practitioner (TAP). Progression to the substantive post of Associate Practitioner requires the successful attainment of a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Health Care Science and work based training programme.
You will be expected to work unsociable hours which will include late periods, weekends and night duties in line with AfC round the clock services in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
Hours to be worked; 08.30 to 17.00, 12:00 to 20:00 and 20:00 to 08:00 on rotation. Weekends 08:00 to 20:00.
