Havering is the easternmost London borough, bordered by Essex to the North and East, the River Thames to the south and the boroughs of Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham to the west. The Housing Demand Service delivers the statutory advice and homelessness preventions services and the Housing Register and Allocations function. . With the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 coming into force in April 2018, we have created new posts to strengthen the service and it is a very exciting time to join.
You will work with people at risk of homelessness and their landlords alike. We want you to help residents remain in their homes where homelessness can be prevented and support landlords who provide the council with properties to relieve homelessness.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. The qualities we are looking for this role is:

2 x Housing Solutions Officer (Homeless)
Grade 6-£29517-£32628 pa
Are you customer outcome focused, a clear thinker, able to interpret complex legislation and guidance, have excellent negotiating, conflict management and communication skills? If so, this role might be for you!
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, have the ability to negotiate, a positive can do attitude whilst being able to have difficult conversations and realistically manage expectations.
