An opportunity to join the stroke therapy team has arisen. The successful candidate will work across the stroke pathway which includes acute inpatient stroke care, inpatient rehabilitation at Pendle Community Hospital and Community rehabilitation across east Lancashire.
Extensive training and support to develop the candidate will be given from stroke specialist therapists in all of the areas.
Experience in neuro rehabilitation is desirable but not essential as extensive training and support is available.

You will be expected to perform neurological assessments of stroke patients and develop therapeutic treatment programmes; you will work closely with trainee and assistant practitioners in all of the areas.
Clinical supervision is provided and you will also supervise junior members of the team.
You will be required to take part in a Saturday rota on A.S.U. A day off during the week is given.
Currently the team works between 08.30-16.30 Monday –Friday.
There may be plans to extend to 7 day working and longer working days in the future.

It is essential that you are committed to providing high quality care for stroke patients and their families, that you have an understanding of the impact stroke has on the patient
You will also need to demonstrate that you can contribute to the teams’ development by showing that you are enthusiastic and have a strong sense of motivation.
Good time management skills and organisational skills as well as ability to communicate effectively with all members of the MDT is required.

Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata.
