Band 7 Reporting Sonographer
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated reporting Sonographer with experience in Musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound to join our team of three specialist MSK Sonographers and work closely with highly regarded internationally recognised MSK Consultant Radiologists.
The successful candidate would work in the Radiology department in Chapel Allerton Hospital, which forms part of the Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust. The department provides a highly specialised MSK imaging service to primary care, ‘The Chapel Allerton Orthopaedic Centre’ and ‘The Academic unit of Musculoskeletal Medicines’. This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a cutting-edge clinical environment performing a wide range of MSK scans.
The department has four ultrasound rooms carrying out over 12,000 examinations per year. The ultrasound rooms are equipped with up to date GE Machines.
The successful candidate must have the DMU/PG Diploma in diagnostic medical ultrasound. HCPC registration is expected.
Our team of sonographers are dedicated and committed to the highest quality of care and imaging. You will need to be team orientated with demonstrable teaching abilities, e xcellent interpersonal and communication skills. The unit is highly research active and Sonographers are encouraged to become involved in research projects.
The unit organises musculoskeletal courses for the International and European Skeletal Societies and the renowned British Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course. The sonographers from the unit have taught at the European Society of Skeletal Radiology (ESSR) and British ultrasound courses, providing teaching for interactive sessions.
There are opportunities available for the successful candidate to be recruited into a rotational post within general ultrasound departments in the trust, scanning general ultrasound work including Obstetrics, gynecology, general medical, small parts etc.

For Band 1 roles the Trust will pay the cost of the DBS checks and refund to you the cost of the update service. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
