Freelance Senior Project Manager required for an immediate start in Bedford delivering multiple Education projects on schools framework. Initial 12 months work and up to £350 per day offered with permanent opportunities available.
My Client is an award winning Consultancy specialising within the Construction Sector and with continued growth in 2018 are looking to develop an Operations Team in Bedford.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for control of the Project Team to safely deliver on time, to stated quality, at minimum cost and to Client satisfaction. Additionally acting as the link between the Client and other Key Stakeholders.
Duties will include:
Production of tender schedules and contributing to procurement of trade contractors.
Preparing detailed project plan.
Establishing key relationships with the Client and other Key Stakeholders.
Creating regular and clear lines of communication to address issues, which may arise.
Setting up and chairing regular site progress meetings and reporting on weekly project and commercial progress.
Ensuring project/programme is kept up to date.
Agreeing key responsibilities and managing/developing the team to ensure objectives are met and staff are supported and motivated.
Assessing resources available on a regular basis and bringing in additional support/specialist expertise where necessary.
Establishing appropriate project operating procedures and systems, specifically ensuring management plan is being followed and adhered to.
Taking responsibility for ensuring safe project working practices are adhered to for all site personnel.
Managing, monitoring and coordinating all key aspects of the project, including but not limited to, cost, value, risk, logistics, safety, quality, M&E, design and environment.
Ensuring close out and practical completion schedules are completed and issued.
Providing financial reports on time (forecasts, budgets, income, fees etc.)
Ensuring invoices and timesheets are submitted on time.
Liaising with Project Director.
Successful candidates will possess:
Previous experience of working in a similar role.
Successful track record of managing Clients, Contractors and other Stakeholders.
Experience of managing and motivating a team
Sound knowledge of UK and EU legal framework, including Health and Safety regulations, contract law, environment and building regulations.
Experience of managing budgets and forecasting expenditure.
Excellent knowledge of key project processes such as design principals and management, construction processes, procurement and tendering.
Strong project management and organisational skills
Effective communicator, with excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
Able to build and maintain key client relationships.
Able to work in a pressurised environment
Results and quality focused individual.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, using a flexible pragmatic approach.
Ability to adapt to and manage change.
Knowledge and understanding of industry best practice.
Education to HND or equivalent level.
Relevant degree qualification is preferred (not essential).
