The role of Corporate Communications Officer will be to assist the Head of Corporate Communications in delivering a proactive programme of internal and external communications for one of the UK’s leading farming and food producers.
The role will be largely focused on delivering internal communications solutions for the wider business, including taking ownership of key internal communications channels, identifying and producing engaging content, stakeholder engagement and developing our Employer Brand. You will also support with external PR, events and corporate branding activity where required.
The candidate will take an active role in the development and maintenance of new and existing internal communication channels, generating quality content for print, video & digital platforms, and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. You will help to develop our employer brand and work with all key departments including HR, Operations, Commercial, Marketing, Supply Chain and IT.
To assist with the day-to-day management of internal communications
Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications channels, such as staff intranet, quarterly magazine, business announcements and presentations.
To provide a point of contact for the Corporate Communications team.
To manage and co-ordinate intranet activity.
Develop and co-ordinate an annual plan of internal communications.
Identify up-to-date news and feature content.
Work with agencies, designers, editors to produce high-quality content.
Answering queries by phone or email.
Measure the effectiveness of internal communications messages and channels on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to review and amend the strategy as appropriate.
Other tasks you may be required to carry out:
Provide admin and events support.
Provide crisis & issues management support
Monitor press/social media activity and report findings where appropriate
Attend inter-departmental and cross-functional meetings
Supporting the business and its network of 16 food manufacturing sites in engaging with a multinational UK workforce of more than 6,000 employees, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong editing and proofreading skills. You will ideally have a proven track record working in internal communications, PR and/or journalism.
